Aldermaston C of E Primary School Uniform Expectations

School Uniform can be purchased from the school's supplier Michael Hope or from local shops.

Wearing a uniform is a way of showing commitment to an organisation’s values, including respect for self and each-other. It also reduces any fashion competitions and saves time deciding what to wear in the morning! This sheet is to help you support you and your child in getting it right. Remember that this refers to PE kit as well.

Uniform

All children :

Red polo shirt with or without the school's logo

Navy sweatshirt or cardigan with or without the school's logo

Black school shoes (not boots or trainers)

Boys :

Grey trousers or shorts

Grey or black socks

Girls :

Navy skirt or pinafore

Navy or grey trousers

Navy or grey smart shorts

Navy blue gingham summer dress

White or navy blue socks, red or navy blue tights (no leggings under skirts/dresses)

Winter Lunchtime Kit (in a bag that can be hung on a peg)

As we use the field at lunchtime, they will need a change of trousers and extra trainers/wellies to ensure their uniform/PE kit doesn’t get dirty.  They will need a warm coat every day.

PE Kit (in a named draw-string bag)

To be in school everyday

Winter

Light blue t-shirt with or without the school's logo

Navy shorts (no skorts or cycling shorts)

Plimsolls (for indoor wear - Foundation and KS1 only)

 Trainers (for outdoor PE)

All children need to have a tracksuit (or jogging bottoms and a sweatshirt/hoodie) for outdoor PE lessons.

Hair

All hair that is long enough to be tied back (girls and boys) must be completely tied back with plain hair ties/clips.  This is for safety reasons and should also reduce the incidence of headlice.

Make-up/Nail Varnish

Absolutely no make-up including nail varnish is permitted to be worn in school.  If clear lip balm is required for medical purposes, please ensure that it is named and your child hands it to their teacher.  No other lip balms are allowed.

Jewellery

The only jewellery that is permitted is a watch and plain stud earrings.  If your child is unable to remove their earrings independently, please ensure that they don’t wear them to school on a PE day.

Should you have any questions or problems relating to this, please do not hesitate to speak to your child’s class teacher.  Our PTA has a stock of good quality second hand items: please email pta@aldermaston.w-berks.sch.uk with your request.  If your child is unable to follow any of these expectations for a specific reason, please send in a note to explain.

Finally, if your child has borrowed clothes from school, please wash and returned it asap.

All items of clothing, kit and footwear should be clearly marked with the child's name.
