Pupil Voice - School Council

We recognise the need to listen to our pupils' opinions and value their suggestions. At the start of each academic year pupils in classes 1- 6 decide whether to put their name forward as their class representatives. Through a ballot, two School Council members are then elected from each class and they sit on the School Council for the year. The Council is pupil led, supported by the Headteacher and one of the Governors and meets weekly to discuss a range of topics. Four officers are elected from the School Council members: Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary and Treasurer and it is the Chair who leads the meetings. Topics are brought to the meeting via the class representatives or occasionally they will invite a pupil to come along and raise an issue directly. The School Council has an information board in the KS2 library for everyone to read.
The School Council has written a Children's Charter for Break and Lunchtimes.  This sets out their rights and responsibilities. You can view a copy of this by clicking here.
